Here is an overview of what you can expect when you get in touch
Asking for help when we are feeling vulnerable or overwhelmed can be daunting, but our YourHalo support service makes getting in touch as simple and stress-free as possible.
Provided in partnership with our independent partner, healthcare rm, YourHalo is a holistic and evidenced-based approach to managing your emotional wellbeing, managed and run by healthcare professionals, giving you peace of mind that you’ll get the support you need.
When you first reach out, a fully trained member of our support team will run through a few general questions to assess how you are feeling and gain an understanding of the support you may need. If you require ‘in the moment’ care, they can signpost you to immediate help and make referrals on your behalf.
If you don’t require urgent support, we will book an appointment for you with a wellbeing case manager. They will get in touch with you at an agreed date and time to carry out a biopsychosocial assessment. This involves asking you a few more detailed questions about your mental and physical wellbeing.
After this assessment, you will be recommended different support services depending on your circumstances. This might include:
- a referral for psychological coaching – positive psychology to help you reflect on the issues you are facing and how to address them
- a referral for talking therapies, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), counselling support and executive coaching (up to a maximum of six sessions over a 12 month period)
- provision of educational self-help materials, including access to Silvercloud – an online CBT tool
- signposting to additional resources and materials for ongoing support
- broader lifestyle advice and support, relating to physical activity, nutrition and healthy eating and sleep.
YourHalo is designed to equip and empower you to manage your mental health proactively while helping to reduce the risk of more serious conditions developing.
You are under no obligation to use any of these services but most users find that once they take the first step to address issues impeding their emotional wellbeing, the services available to them can make a significant and positive difference.

Admitting that you are struggling can be difficult. It’s normal to want to bury your head in the sand and avoid the issue. However, often when we talk to someone about how we are feeling it can feel like a huge weight has been lifted from our shoulders.
Here are some tips to help you take the first step to talk to someoneā¦
-
1
Acknowledge your feelings. Understand and accept that it's okay to seek help. No one should struggle alone.
-
2
Be honest. Don’t be afraid to say how you really feel. It can be tempting to play down how we are feeling for fear of being judged but by being honest you can get to the root of the issue quicker and access the support you need.
-
3
Practice what you want to say. This can build your confidence and help you work out what you want to get from reaching out.
-
4
Be open to help. Understand that help can come in many forms, such as talking, professional counselling, or even engaging in activities you’ve never tried before. Be open to suggestions and willing to try different approaches.
-
5
Practice self-compassion. Be kind to yourself. Seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Celebrate the small victories, like opening up and taking the first step towards getting help.
