F1 induction pack online

  • Date: 19 August 2014

AN information pack for doctors beginning their foundation training has been published by NHS Careers.

It offers guidance on shadowing and induction, the NHS pension scheme, appraisal, assessment and revalidation, as well as health and wellbeing at work. There are also case studies of previous trainees’ experiences.

Although the booklet is aimed at F1s in England, much of it is relevant to trainees across the UK.

It advises trainees that they should never be left to do anything they don’t feel capable of and that “help should always be available.”

It offers tips for preventing burnout, raising concerns in the workplace, gives information on salary levels and on what to expect during F2 training.
