FROM October 1, the following increases in the rate of the National Minimum Wage take place:

21 years and over – increase from £6.19 to £6.31

18–20 years old – from £4.98 to £5.03

Young workers above compulsory school age but under 18 years – from £3.68 to £3.72

Apprenticeship rate – from £2.65 to £2.68
