INDEMNITY COVER FOR AUSTRALIA PLACEMENTS

Make sure you're covered in every situation with MDDUS membership

Australian legislation requires all registered medical practitioners to have indemnity insurance for healthcare practices.
We have partnered with MIPS (Medical Indemnity Protection Society) in Australia to ensure our members are protected.

Medical electives in Australia

While the Australian government does not require medical students to have indemnity cover, the insurance provided by the university administering your placement might not fully protect you in every situation.

Unexpected events can occur during your electives, clinical scholarship placements, or even while helping in an emergency under the Good Samaritan Act.

For comprehensive cover, apply for your no-cost student membership with MIPS and include your MDDUS membership number when completing the MIPS application form.
