MANAGERS from across the UK have hailed the MDDUS Practice Manager’s Conference a big success for 2017.
The sell-out event, held at the Fairmont Hotel, St Andrews, offered delegates a busy two-day schedule of workshops and masterclasses as well as the chance to network with fellow professionals.
Chief executive Chris Kenny opened the conference on Thursday, November 30 with his welcome address alongside MDDUS board member and GP Dr Lynsey Semple.
This was followed by an exclusive screening of the fifth instalment of our GP practice-based drama, Bleak Practice, which explored the risks associated with the use of locum doctors.
Among the topics covered by our expert speakers was complaints handling, the risks of using locum GPs, managing difficult patients, technology risks, transgender patients and dealing with employee absence. Gerry Devine from FPM also joined the line-up with talks on practice resilience and practice business.
Feedback after the event was overwhelmingly positive. One delegate praised the event as "interesting and very informative", adding that she had left with"lots of food for thought." A first-time attendee described the event as "absolutely fantastic" and the venue as "amazing", adding: "I was able to network and took away a lot of new information that I can apply in my practices."
