AN MDDUS training day highlighting common pitfalls in dental practice has proved a success, prompting plans for a second date in 2016.
MDDUS head of dental division Aubrey Craig headed up a varied group of expert speakers who discussed key causes of patient complaints, claims and General Dental Council referrals, as well as a range of other dento-legal issues.
Employees’ use of social media was a hot topic for employment law adviser Janice Sibbald, while senior risk adviser Liz Price looked at risks around information governance. Solicitor Lindsay McGregor shared her extensive experience, while BDO director Ernie Turner offered advice on minimising financial risks such as tax and fraud.
The training day, held at MDDUS’ offices in Glasgow in May, offered 5.5 hours of CPD accredited by NHS Education Scotland.
Due to demand, a second session has been scheduled for Tuesday, September 20, 2016.
