Streeting's zero-tolerance stance on racism against NHS staff is 'entirely accurate', says MDDUS

The chief executive of the medical defence organisation MDDUS has applauded the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care's commitment to a zero-tolerance stance on racism.

MDDUS Chief Executive Chris Kenny said: "Health Secretary Wes Streeting’s stance on racism against NHS staff is entirely accurate and directly addresses one of the five key asks for the new government we published last month.

“We’re appalled by the recent reports of healthcare workers facing racist abuse and violence during the civil unrest and rioting. These acts are completely unacceptable. Every healthcare worker deserves to work in a safe environment, free from the threat of racist abuse or attack.

“This commitment to a zero-tolerance policy on racism is a crucial step towards ensuring the safety and well-being of all NHS staff.”
