Karen graduated from the University of Glasgow with a law degree in 2008 and qualified as a solicitor in 2012. She gained a Masters in Medical Law with Distinction from the University of Glasgow in 2013. She pursued a career specialising in healthcare law, first at litigation law firm Clyde & Co and then with the Medical Protection Society, before joining MDDUS in 2024. Karen brings a wealth of expertise to the legal team at MDDUS. Her experience extends across the defence of clinical negligence litigation and product liability claims involving medical devices, judicial review proceedings, fatal accident inquiries and representing healthcare professionals in regulatory cases before the GMC and GDC. She is also a Notary Public.
